  • Advance Care Planning International (ACP-i) is a non-profit organization, registered in Germany. ACP-i funding is solely from membership fees. Money goes towards journal publications, web site fees, and financial auditing costs.

Mission

  • ACP-i is a multi-professional, interdisciplinary society whose aim and purpose is to promote the advance planning of treatment decisions in cases of future incapacity to consent

Committee

  • ACP-i Board is elected by the membership at the general meeting every 2 years and includes the following appointments:
    • President
    • Vice-President
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary
    • Three Board Members

Aims and Objectives

  • The purpose of the Society is the promotion of research and development; education, national education and vocational training, including student support; public health system and public healthcare in the field of advance care planning.
  • The Society aims to achieve its purpose by
    • organizing conferences and conventions – including at the inter-national level – aimed at furthering exchanges of research results and imple¬mentation experience;
    • developing recommendations and quality standards for advance care planning;
    • advancing the conceptual progress of advance care planning in scientific and practical ways (for example, by setting up task forces and realizing conventions);
    • promoting the networking and co-operation of the different players in science and practice by creating an international platform (by e-mail distribution lists, online offers, etc.);
    • promoting an evaluation of advance care planning in terms of structures, processes and results in order to ensure effective quality assurance (e.g. by setting up a task force to deal with this subject);
    • providing information to a specialist public and education to a non-professional public on the possi-bilities of advance care planning and end-of-life care;
    • supporting research in the field of advance care planning and end-of-life care giving special attention to national and international networking;
    • cooperating with other domestic and foreign charitable organizations for the promotion of advance care planning and end-of-life care;
